Add a theme template that uses drop-down navigation menus on top of page like Moodle's main page rather than side-menus that takes up screen real estate. The drop-down hover menu using a horizontal bar on top of the screen is more intuitive, and save space. It does not clutter up the screen. It would be more consistent with the Moodle's main page layout too.
