Since some days ago, with moodle.org running 2.0, I've detected these annoyances with messaging:

I got two messages in my account:

      1) clicked in the first one and one forum post was shown. I've attached screenshot (first.png). Formating is really wrong, no links... awful.
      2) clicked in the second one I got the error: This user is only accepting messages from people listed as contacts, and you are not currently on the list. (see second.png attachment). I really don't get the meaning. Is it supposed that the user sent me one message? But now I cannot read it because some setting of the user? What kind of message is it?

      And one more point:

      3) Also, on upgrade (or when missing), it seems that the preferences for forum posts are set to "popup" when online by default. IMO it would be better and BC behavior, to set both the offline and online prefs to "email" instead. It's annoying to miss posts in email and, suddenly, get all them in popup if you are "online" too much time.

Assigning this to Helen because surely she knows if this must be sub-task of something or if anybody is working on messages issues. Feel free to comment / assign / whatever.

      Ciao
