I'm not absolutely positive about the version number, but I'm fairly sure that it's the latest version available as my site administrator is good about updating. Here are the date-related issues:

1) Quizzes say they are available until even though the close date reads a date that is already past, October 24, 2004, for instance. This problem means that even though I have opened the review option for my students, they can't see their quizzes, and it also means they can't study for the upcoming grammar final using their past quizzes. There are, of course, other ways to study, but as I'm trying to sell my kids and parents on the interactive qualities of Moodle, it would be a very good thing if this were fixed before my final exam January 19.

2) The calendar: I have my course set up in groups. I would prefer to enter some due dates for groups only as other teachers using my course do not have the same deadlines. At present, it is allowing me to enter all of the info in group mode, but when I click the save changes option (or whatever the post option is) it doesn't enter the post. I can enter course deadlines, so this problem isn't quite as urgent as #1, but if it can be fixed, great.
