There are four button labels on every quiz page. "Submit" after every question, and then three at the end of the page:

      • Save without submitting
      • Submit page
      • Submit all and finish

It's not clear what "Submit" means in each context; these labels should be improved.

      Why it matters

An incorrect button choice can lead to losing points in a quiz, and users know this. Most were nervous about using the last three buttons, unsure of what would happen.

      Possible solution

      Potential new labels:

      • Save without scoring (or "marking")
      • Grade all answers on this page
      • Grade all answers on this page and finish the quiz

Obviously those labels are very long, and different labels may be more successful. Regardless of the specific text, new users unfamiliar with Moodle must be the primary audience for these labels.
