The user profile has an option to turn on or off the WYSIWYG editor. The label for this option is "When editing text." Its possibilities are:
- Use standard web forms
- Use HTML editor (some browsers only)
No screen reader user found this option on the first attempt.
Why it matters
"WYSIWYG" is a very common acronym, and all users tested understood exactly what it meant. "When editing text" could refer to any number of activities or options.
Possible solution
Make the label more declarative, and include the acronym WYSIWYG. Make the options simpler, e.g., "yes" and "no."
