Translation plugin: Update content page in site admin menu doesn't seem to have a purpose

      If you install the Translation manager and filter and go to Site Administration > Language > Update content a page appears saying 'Content translation manager' and with fields for:

      • Old text (showing an Atto editor field)
      • New text (showing an Atto editor field)
      • Old text plain (showing a plain text field)
      • New text plain (showing a plain text field)

      With Save changes and Cancel buttons at the bottom.

       

      What are these for? If they aren't required can we delete them from the Site Admin menu?
