It would be useful to know the language of a Moodle user when they contribute content. If this could be captured in the translation tool, then we wouldn't be constrained by the assumption the filter currently makes, that all original language courses are whatever the Moodle instances' default language is set to.

It would also be useful for those translating content automatically in forums with multiple languages being used.
