Moodle core's (I'm using 3.5.2) weekly format generates a checkbox "Calculate the end date from the number of sections", which can be relied on conveniently without having to adjust the course end date after adding or removing a week section.

It appears that Collapsed Topics does not support this feature, so manual control of the course end date must be used.

Could the automatic calculation of the end date be added - as an option as in the Weekly format?

Controlling end dates has become all the more vital since the Course overview page divides now courses between In progress, Past and Future tabs.
