Date type is affected by timezone settings.

      We have a teacher that lives in one state, but their students live in another state. They entered their birthday of "3/13/1980" but the teacher is seeing "3/12/1980" because of the time difference. Since this is a date and not a time it needs to be stored and displayed in server time.
