When a non-numerical scale is used, all the values that are passed to the templates are strings. The formula features are then unable to calculate with these. I suggest an addition to the ratings field so we can call for numerical values as a pattern.

2. Select a non-numerical scale
3. Create a view referencing the average and the numerical average patterns.
4. Add entries
5. Rate entries
6. Use a formula to total lines and/or columns.
