It takes a long time to redirect the students and teachers to archive versions of Moodle after they select this in the drop-down menu.

It seems like it is loading something on the current version first before the redirect takes place. Can the code not just check the role of the user and then redirect the user immediately when they choose the year, rather than them having to wait for the page to load, then get redirected?
