The new (as on Moodle 2.3) does not work with the Side Bar block as the Javascript that works with that functionality specifically targets certain areas of Moodle where it will work (e.g. the Site main menu block). This issue is to create support for the Side Bar block so that this functionality may be used instead of having to use the old drop-down SELECT-style Resource and Activity create functionality.
