I have had faculty request a start/end time and date for Journals (like quizzes have). They would like to have a journal open at a specific time, then close at a specific time.

The most common reason for this is to have a journal for thoughts on the readings for that day's lecture. Thus it would be best to close it right before class. Then the students can get credit if they do their reading ahead of time.

As it is now, it seems you can only close it the night before, or the night after.
