Journals are completely non related in the gradebook. After grading and giving feedback, I look at the gradebook, and no grades appear. The names of the journal assignment is also not shown, only "Grade". If I go into the "Categories and Items" area and look at the assignment, the item name is not entered, the maximum grade is wrong also. I entered some item info, and saved. Magically the assignment name and maximum grade are entered, and it shows up in the gradebook with the name instead of "Grade", but the grades for the journal are still not appearing. I grade the journals through the gradebook and the grades that I enter there show up, but they do not overwrite the grades that I gave the journals in the "View Responses" area, nor does it show the Feedback that I gave them.

Journal grading is completely broken in 1.9.
