We have had difficulties with occasional users who have duplicate entries in this table - duplicate turnitin_uid instances. We (having tried) are struggling to see why this has happened and why it is causing a problem.

However, it would be better if this was defined as a unique index (various selects are made against this field anyway). This would make it much more robust as problems would be caught at source.
