Some users have reported that the Word file import facility doesn't work. The cause seems to be that the CURL request that sends the Word file to the external server for conversion to XML never returns. The supposition is that CURL is not correctly installed. In this case the user was using a 3rd-party Moodle hosting service, and did not have full control of the environment.
