1. Practice mindfulness.  This is very simple and can be practiced anytime, anywhere. All that is required is for you to be aware--fully focused on whatever activity you are undertaking, such as washing the dishes, listening to someone, or walking in nature. Mindfulness is the bridge to deeper meditation. However, it could be practiced, for example when you are sitting in a non-driving seat of a car or in an airplane seat or even when walking in the park. Engage your mind in full awareness of the surrounding. Observe the brightness of the light, the wind as it feels on your skin, the smell of the air you breathe or the softest sound you can hear. It creates an immediate total sense of relaxation - a state of being between wakefulness and sleep, know in yogic terms as 'pratyahara',
  2. Be creative - Aim to be utterly free in your expression of everything you do, everywhere you are; not affected in the slightest by anyone else. Sir Ken Robinson defines creativity as, "the process of having original ideas that have value."
  3. Be kind to yourself and if you have an [[inner critic]] (negative self-talk) take a moment to re-frame (you can't, you won't, you haven't)  and instead aim for "there is no reason why I can't, I may, I will".  Self-talk is important and can be changed.   You are what you believe, speak nicely to yourself.
  4. Reduce stress in your life.  Stress chemistry in your blood outstrips anything you may find below in affecting your health. For example you may eat bio dynamic vegan, but live as a stress monkey, your cardiovascular system and overall health is still being wrecked. Of course lots of items below help in reducing stress.
  5. Change the way you think about stress. (Ted talk link). The way you think about stress can help you alleviate their negative effects. Instead of thinking stress as a bad influence, think of them as a mechanism to prepare you mind and body for accepting challenges.
  6. Start being positive about yourself- Take responsibility for the choices you make - be accountable to yourself for your health and stay focused on your goal to live a healthy life.
  7. Leave work at work.  When you leave the office, leave the stress of the day there and spend your evening recharging so that you can start the next day fresh. This may be easier said than done!
  8. Learn to say "no".  We often take on way more than we can handle, because of a need to please.  It is OK to say "no" every once in a while.
  9. Don't worry. If you have a problem and can't do anything about it you are wasting your time worrying about it. If you have a problem and can do something about it there is no need to worry. Worry is unproductive and creates havoc with your inner peace. If you have a problem be proactive in solving it. You can be assured that worry will not solve it for you so don't wreck your inner peace and risk your sanity with worry.  When you have a problem, talk to somebody about it and as they may be able to help.
  10. Never stop learning!  It keeps you young. Knowledge is never ending and age factor does not matter in terms of gaining it. Use Podcasts or Itunes U to make good use of journey times.
  11. Keep your mind active: Complete a crossword every day/week to keep your brain connectors working; learn Sudoku, or try reading a good book. As CS Lewis said, "We read to know we are alive."

  19. Connect with others.  Develop and maintain strong relationships with people around you who will support and enrich your life.  The quality of our personal relationships has a great effect on our mental well being and it is worth putting the time and effort into building strong relationships.
  20. Concentrate on your breathing. Breathe low down in your diaphragm. After about three to five breaths start smiling on exhalation. Start by smiling a little. Broaden your smile. How good do you feel now?
  21. Surround yourself with positive people, they make you feel good. Negative people only bring you down.
  22. Don't retire. "Evidence shows that in societies where people stop working abruptly, the incidence of obesity and chronic disease skyrockets after retirement," says Luigi Ferrucci, director of the Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging.
  23. "Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life" - Steve Jobs, inventor and co-founder and former CEO of Apple inc.

Body

Eat more fruits and vegetables - cut back on the processed foods and try to eat more raw and natural foods, especially dark green, leafy vegetables like kale or collard greens.

A little honey every day - will heal up many little problems.

Do some good physical work each day - if you can't find work, do some exercises, but some simple daily household and yard chores will contribute to physical health, and on top of that get necessary things accomplished, AND also make you feel good about yourself.

Spirit

Revere and worship God - this is the beginning of wisdom and opens you up to much divine help, particularly if you talk everything over with God every day. Then He will guide and protect you, and provide for your needs.
